Prologue
"Yo, DJ!" a voice called, "Wait up!"
DJ, a blue Toyota Scion, groaned when Ebony caught up with him. He cursed himself for having to agree to watch over the young girl for Boost. She was just too rambunctious at times. She might've been only 14, but Ebony already knew how to handle herself well as she drove beside DJ.
"Hey, aren't ya gonna play that big CD player of yours?" Ebony asked enthusiastically.
"I've already played all the songs I have for you," DJ replied, "Why do you wanna hear them again?"
"Because I like them," replied the young Dodge Viper with a smile on her grill, "Could ya play them again? Please, please, please?"
DJ sighed, knowing that he'd have no other choice, and switched on his built-in stereo sound system, which blasted out loud rock music. Ebony weaved creatively around him, as if she were dancing to the music and DJ couldn't help but smile at the girl's antics.
She'd make a good tuner when she's older, DJ thought appreciatively, If Boost lets her.
Ebony came back beside DJ when the song ended and another one began. This was one of her favorites and it made her feel like she wanted to do something fun.
"C'mon, DJ," Ebony laughed, "Let's race!"
"Huh? But, Boost said..." DJ tried to protest.
"Oh, who cares what my grumpy, ol' brother says," Ebony scoffed, rolling her eyes, "He's not here. So that means, whatever I say we do we do, alright?"
Well, as long as I'm out here with her... DJ told himself, Might as well enjoy myself.[/i]
"Okay," DJ said at last, "Let's go."
Ebony laughed again and sped off. DJ sped off after the girl, and tried his best to keep up with her, even though he wasn't as fast as she was. But he didn't care at the moment, because he was having fun, and the rock music was adding more fun to their antics.
Chrysler, she's fast, DJ thought as he continued to chase Ebony, Boost would be proud of her. After all, she is his little sister.
But their fun and games would not last for long....
To be continued...

This is short, but I think I did okay on Ebony's introduction.

Chapter 1
While DJ and Ebony were play-racing down Interstate 40, storm clouds began to gather in the sky above. An exceptionally loud thunderclap abruptly put a halt to the fun and games.
"Let's go back," DJ told Ebony, "before we get caught in a bad thunderstorm."
"Aww..." Ebony groaned, slowed down anyway and followed DJ back to the DRH homebase.
She didn't want Boost to worry about her. Boost was always a worrywart (her name for him) whenever Ebony was concerned and this always made the younger Viper feel really uneasy.
Oh well, she thought, brothers will always be brothers.
The two had made it back to the abandoned warehouse that the DRH used for a home and went inside just in time to hear haevy raindrops start pounding on the tin roof. Ebony thanked DJ for going with her and headed off to the corner where she spent most of her indoor time by herself. She was hoping to avoid Boost and escape one of his lectures. Those almost always bored her to death.
She was into a book when a familiar shadow fell over her. Ebony groaned, knowing that the shadow belonged to her older brother, Boost. She knew why he had come looking for her in the first place.
"Ebony," Boost said in a calm voice, "Did you get DJ to chase you down the Interstate again?"
"Aw, man..." Ebony groaned as she stood up on her shocks, "Did he tell you about it?"
Boost nodded his front as he closed in on Ebony. He could tell that she was feeling guilty. Ebony was young and was still learning what life was like on the street.
Perhaps I shouldn't be too hard on her, thought Boost, but I want her to realize that life on the street is dangerous. She is my sister and I have to protect her.
When he made sure that no one else was around, Boost's expression softened to assure Ebony that he wasn't angry with her. He nudged her with a tire to get her attention.
"Listen, Sis. You know I care about you, but sometimes your antics and behavior scares me," explained Boost, going into lecture mode, "I definately do not want to lose you, Ebony. Does that mean anything to you?"
"Yes, but I was only having fun," Ebony answered in a pleading voice. She hated it when her older brother lectured her.
"Fun where you could've gotten yourself killed?" Boost demanded, "You're still young and you're still not wise to life on the street yet."
"I was with DJ," replied the younger Viper, who was beginning to cry, "He didn't let anything bad happen to me and he got us back here just before the rain started poring down."
Boost had to agree with Ebony on that one. He knew that DJ did like the girl and would often hear the Scion play music for her deep into the night. Then, when she was too tired to stay awake, Ebony would make her way over to where Boost rested and snuggle against him for protection and comfort. This was the gentle caring side that Boost would keep secret from the rest of the tuners. He didn't want anyone to think he was going soft because of his sister.
The private moments he shared with Ebony was not anyone's business at all. Nobody had the right to know anyway.
Boost turned his attention back on the present and back on Ebony because she had been poking him.
"Ebony," Boost growled, warning her off.
"What? You had that faraway look and I just wanted to bring you back to reality somehow," explained Ebony, tapping Boost again with her antenna.
Boost rolled his eyes, "Whatever. Look, Ebony, I'm gonna have to start teaching you how to live on the streets. You're gonna have to know this when you're older." I'm not always gonna be there to protect you, Boost thought silently.
"And then can I get my modifications?" asked an eager Ebony.
"Like I said," Boost replied, "When you're older. Now I think that you need to get some rest until, at least, the rain stops."
Ebony, after taking in everything that Boost had told her, approached her older brother and nuzzled him affectionately like the loving sister that she is. Boost quietly returned this gesture.
When Ebony had been settled beside her younger brother, 12-year-old Hydro, and finally sound asleep, Boost went off to speak to DJ.

Ebony's Storyby Firebird DISCLAIMER: Cars and everything related to it belongs to Pixar Disney. Ebony, Hydro, Ryder, Storm, and Blaze belong to me. No copyright infringement intended. This is just for fun.Chapter 2"Hey there." The voice startled Ebony out of her thoughts, causing her to look up at the car who interrupted her. He was a hunter green 1990 Chevrolet Camaro with amber eyes and a kind smile. "Hey," Ebony returns the greeting, "I haven't seen you around here before." "Name's Ryder," the Camaro introduced himself, "My brother, Storm, and I just joined the DRH." "I'm Ebony," the Viper answered, "May I ask why you and your brother joined the DRH?" "Personal reasons," Ryder's expression darkened for a brief moment then returned to its normal friendliness, "but anyway, I was just looking for someone to show me around, since I'm new and all.." Ebony studied Ryder, noting the modifications he had done to himself. There were the usual visor and neons, including the pastel green glow coming from underneath his undercarriage. But what struck her as most unusual is the sweeping yellow scanner situated at Ryder's nose above his grill. Where had he gotten the idea for that? From the Knight Rider TV series? It seemed so to Ebony, since Ryder's name was similar. "I'll show you around," Ebony offered kindly, "provided I don't get stuck babysitting my little brother again." "Who's your little brother?" Ryder asked as he followed Ebony. "Hydro," replied Ebony, "he's only two years younger than I am, but already he seems to be a technological genius." "Really? That's cool," Ryder grinned, "My brother's a doctor." Ebony stopped. "A doctor?" she asked apprehensively. "Well, yeah," Ryder nodded, stopping beside her, then noting her expression, "Is there something bothering you?" Ebony reversed into a darkened corner of the DRH homebase. This wasn't easy for the young tuner, but doctors weren't one of those people that she trusted very much. A tuner that she had known died in the hospital of serious injuries, that resulted from a very aggressive street race. None of the doctors didn't do a thing to help Blaze and just let her succumb to her injuries. "What's wrong?" Ryder asked with concern, his nose touching Ebony's. Ebony stayed silent, although she noted Ryder's concern for her was genuine. But could she trust him to hear her out and not get mad at her for not trusting doctors? "Well... you see," Ebony explained quietly, "Doctors and tuners don't get along too well. They just let us die when we are injured. I watched on of my best friends die of injuries that have been deliberately left untreated. I could only imagine how much pain Blaze suffered before she perished. That's something that will never leave my memories." Ryder's expression changed from shock, to anger, to horror, and finally to sympathy. He hadn't known that tuner life was so hard, especially on one as young as Ebony. How old was she anyway? He'll probably find out later. "I'm sorry about your friend," Ryder said soothingly, "and it's a shame that most doctors would do that to an injured car. But I can assure you that my brother is nothing like that." "Are you sure?" Ebony asked uncertainly. Ryder nodded reassuringly, "Yeah. Tell you what. I'll take you to meet my brother. Would that help?" Ebony looked at Ryder for a moment before replying, "Sure, that would help and I'd like to meet your brother." "Follow me," the hunter green Camaro smiled at Ebony and then led the way over to where his brother, Storm, was, chatting with one of the other new tuners. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Here's chapter 2. Now you all know why Ebony doesn't trust doctors too much. ;D Chapter 3 is coming soon. ~ Firebird

Ebony's Story by Firebird
DISCLAIMER: Cars and everything related to it belong to Pixar Disney. Ebony, Flint, and Storm belong to me. No copyright infringement intended. This is just for fun.
Chapter 3
There was to be street race today and the DRH were already gathered at the location the race was going to be held. Boost and Ebony were inside the circle the others had formed and were discussing the upcoming event.
"Ebony," said Boost, "this is your first street race. Ya sure you're up to it?"
"Do I look like a baby?" Ebony replied, a fierce look in her eyes, "Of course I'm sure. When's the race gonna start?"
"When your challenger arrives," Boost answers, glancing about.
"If he arrives," Wingo muttered irritably.
Just as soon as Wingo had finished that comment, a black Toyota Supra appears, a smug look on his face. His name was Flint. He rolled up next to the DRH, smiling pleasantly.
"Sorry I'm late," Flint explained apologetically, "but I had to take care of some... unfinished business. No worries. I'm free now and ready to start that race."
"Finally," Ebony huffed, rolling her eyes.
Flint smirked as he pulled beside Ebony at the starting line. The road was straight for about a half a mile before curving to the right. The two street racers had to go that distance, make the turn, travel about five city blocks, turn right again for about four more blocks, make yet another right turn, then drive straiht for the rest of the course, finishing where they had begun. To everyone present, it looked like Ebony and Flint were ready as they will ever be.
Driving up to them, Boost parked in front of both Ebony and Flint, his expression stern. Both street racers watched him intently, as he explained to them how exactly they were going to race on the course set out for them. They nodded, accepting the rules and what they were required to do.
The race started and both Ebony and Flint shot forward like bullets. Nearly racing side by side, the Viper and the Supra barrelled around the first turn effortlessly. Ebony soon takes the lead as she expertly weaves around the few cars who were still out that night. Flint follows her, keeping pace, and driving inches from her bumper. She doesn't expect that Flint is planning something harmful to her.
When the two had reaching the last turn in the race, Flint acted instantly, slamming his front fender into Ebony's left back wheel, causing her to spin-out and crash against one of the buildings. Flint crosses the finish line first, but Ebony is badly hurt and in pain.
Not allowing Flint to get the satisfaction he really didn't deserve, Boost and Wingo chase the Supra out of their territory while DJ and Snot Rod watch anxiously as Storm, the DRH's doctor, works to patch up Ebony's injuries. He had to move fast as the cops would soon show up and arrest them for illegal street racing.
"We have to move her now," Storm tells Boost when the Viper and the Silvia returned, "there is no way I'm going to let those oilstains at those big, fancy hospitals let Ebony die like they have with others."
Boost nodded in agreement, tight-lipped and with a stony expression. His sister was injured and he was trying to keep it all together in front of his compatriots. The DRH dispersed quickly, flanking Ebony, and managed to return to the homebase where Storm continued to work on the young Viper.
- Four hours later -
Ebony woke up with a groan, feeling pain shoot through her frame. She winced and shuddered, breathing shakily.
"W...what..?" she croaked weakly.
"Don't worry," said a gentle voice that Ebony recognized as belonging to Storm, "You're outta danger and in a safe place now. I've patched up most of your injuries and have been watching over you for some time to make sure you get better. Now, mustn't move or speak as that would aggravate your injuries. What you need to do for now is to rest and regain your strength and health."
"I...I lost the race... didn't I...?" Ebony asked Storm.
"I'm afraid so," Storm replied sadly, "I'll tell you later. Now hush and go to sleep."
Ebony sighed, shuddered, and settled down to rest, letting her wheels splay and her undercarriage to touch the floor. Storm kept a close watch over her, making sure that she remained comfortable while she recovered from her injuries.
